It’s very low cost but really fun to make. See the full tutorial here.

Egg Carton Flowers

Brighten up your day with some egg carton flowers.

Parents can help by cutting the egg carton, and then let the kids go wild with paint! Just add a straw as the stem and voila! You’ve got your egg carton flowers.

Recycled Car Garage

This is a great one for pretend play and doesn’t cost a thing!

For the car, train (and tram) mad kids, make a simple garage by cutting out small door flaps on either side of the box and let the stories and “toot toot” sounds begin.

If you also have toilet paper rolls, these make excellent tunnels! You can also add an egg carton as trees and mountains.

Marble Maze Paper Plates

Older kids can challenge their friends by creating a range of different marble mazes using paper plates and straws!

Instead of a marble, we use Malteasers – and play for the chocolate covered gold nuggets.

You have to move the marble around the course in the maze by only moving the plate.

To make it even trickier for your challenger, cut strategically placed holes in the plate, big enough for the marbles to fall through.
